Camellia Javadi Jacobs
Founder and Design Principal
Camellia’s lifelong passion for creating beautiful homes began while moving more than a dozen times during childhood with parents who had real estate and architecture backgrounds. Each cross-country move brought another opportunity for her family to create the personal and comforting feeling of home in a new city and state, that was also reflective of her family’s Persian cultural heritage. A former divorce lawyer and mediator, Camellia brings a knack for collaborating with a team of professionals and stakeholders to generate creative ideas that address her client’s goals and aspirations. While completing her design studies at Parsons School of Design, Camellia began rehabilitating houses in need of TLC, bringing them back to life for new owners. Camellia now applies her expertise in the realm of residential interior design, supporting families navigating the various changes and transitions that result in, and result from, a new home environment. She is adept at problem-solving, organization, and knows how to bring structure and calm to the chaos of home renovation and redesign. Her personal and professional experience bring a deep awareness of how much our home environments support our relationships and overall well-being.
Kat Kempner
Studio Manager
Kat has a diverse background in restaurant and event management, primarily in support of small businesses. She loves the dynamic energy and relationship-building offered by the hospitality industry. She is currently enrolled in a studio arts certificate program at the Washington Studio School. Her focus is on drawing and painting from life with a particular interest in color theory & the figure. When time permits, she also dabbles in ceramics, tapestry weaving, jewelry making, and helping her husband with his cottage bakery business. She is excited to bring her love of design and love of people to JJ Homes
